James Ofria
Author and Poet
At a young age, I discovered my love for literature. I inherited this from my grandfather, who instilled in me a sense of discipline, diligence, and respect. After his passing, I began to write. I expanded on this passion throughout high school. I wrote constantly, recited poetry in French at academic events, and performed at a poetry slam. In my senior year creative writing course, I honed my abilities and gained knowledge on building a portfolio. I have been published in The Scribe and The Wave (DCF newsletter). I continue to write poetry as a form of self-expression, as well as a political act of radical creativity. I ceased working on my novel a couple years ago, but I would love to write another in the future.
